The largest number of new employees was taken on in production of transport equipment, electrical and optical devices and production of rubber and plastic products. Job cuts were recorded in leather processing and mining.
The average nominal monthly wage in industrial companies reached Kc18,709 in February, a year-on-year increase of 6.8 percent. Hourly wage rose by an average 7.3 percent to Kc136.40. Labour productivity in industry grew 13 percent, while hourly productivity was 13.3 percent higher.

The CSU revised the preliminary figure on January industrial output growth by 0.9 percentage points upwards from 9.8 percent announced earlier.
